Currently, this type of practice is banned, and companies that use it are severely punished. And it does not matter that these are listed companies, which in the explanations before the "tribunal" Google indicated that they were not aware that the agencies working for them use this type of practice.


Currently, more than quantity, What matters is the quality of the links, and more precisely the sources they come from. Today, search engines are able to effectively assess the quality of a link and determine its role in SEO.


Inbound links, of course next to the number of visits, are probably the simplest factor determining a website's popularity on the web. From the very beginning, Google treats incoming links as a kind of recommendation.


If many entities have linked to our site on their website, they will find it worth recommending. If it is worth attention, it means that it should be in the top positions in the search ranking for specific queries. Inbound links, as an important factor taken into account in determining a page's ranking, are often criticized.


Opponents indicate that this factor can be easily manipulated. It seems, however, that despite increasing the importance of the content for the position of the page, links played and will continue to be of great importance for the position of the page. One can only be sure

The following are of direct importance for the website's position in the search ranking:

  • do-follow links - attribute assigned to a reference (external link). These types of links, unlike no-follow hyperlinks, are taken into account by robots responsible for indexing pages (they tell robots which page to visit) and are friendly to search engine algorithms.

  • properly optimized links, tag Anchor Text (description link visible to the internet users) should be included not only the address of the page but also the positioning of the phrase.

  • links from various sources, SEO is not only about the quality, but also the variety of links, which means that they come from various sources - not only private websites but also industry and general information portals.

  • links from different IP addresses.

  • links coming from portals thematically related to the company's business profile, the position of which we want to improve in the search results (for example, if the positioning object is a hairdressing salon, the most valuable will be links from industry websites dealing not only with hairdressing in the strict sense but also generally understood beauty and fashion).

  • links coming from websites that are linguistically identical to the area of ​​our business (20% of hyperlinks from foreign-language websites are allowed on average)

  • inbound links from sites with a solid reputation. Google understands a link from page A to page B as the voice of page A to page B. If the vote comes from the "important" page, then the landing page itself also becomes important, and this has a direct impact on the visibility of the page in the search engine. It should be remembered that the Page Rank factor (Google has repeatedly indicated that it has resigned from it) does not count anymore when assessing the value of a page, other types of tips should be used.

  • inbound links from high-quality articles, ideally, the text should not directly refer to our brand, but analyze our business sector very generally. The optimal solution is one incoming link from one text.

Link Building this is not a one-time activity that has a beginning and an end, as most SEO people would like. Colloquially speaking, pinning a few dozen or several hundred links to the promoted website in one night is probably the worst strategy you can imagine in this regard.


Google considers it to be artificial activities (such links are considered unnatural) aimed at increasing visibility in search results. Building a link base is a never-ending process. It can never be said that this process is complete.

In the slang of specialists, they are called link farms. There, the anchored links can be bought, transferred to another portal or simply rented. These kinds of websites are of no value to users, they create some kind of garbage

 In fact, they only litter the Internet galaxy. Google is effectively trying to fight them, that is, remove them from search results so that they do not cause discomfort to search engine users. Today, it is less and less common to find such pages on the first pages of search results.


They were effectively thrown into the depths of the web. Gaining inbound links should be based on creating high-quality content. If we take care of valuable content on the website, we can be sure that

Building a link base is a key issue in promoting a website in the search engine. When creating it, you should remember a few elements:

  • schedule for adding incoming links to the positioned page (set time intervals and the number of links that will be added in these time intervals),

  • not to add many links in a short time (Google will recognize that this is an artificial operation provoked by the agency's actions and not a result of the increase in popularity of the website),

  • it is worth investing invaluable links. Although the links from the so-called Directories or Presell Pages are not prohibited, in most cases their importance is small (this is due to their poor quality). An effective strategy in this regard is to build your own back-office based on various IPs (SEO hosting plans) and various scripts (WordPress, Joomla, etc.), containing unique content related to the profile of our business,

  • give up ways that offer a quick effect. The most common is the Link Exchange System, which Google seems to have dealt with forever. Currently, the involvement of SWL is almost a penalty.

 

  • constantly monitor links leading to the positioned page. There are known cases when market rivals, in order to "make the life easier" of competitors, direct to their sites a large number of links from dubious sources. Google classifies such an operation as a tort and suspends the website. However, before we prove our innocence and the site returns to the index, we may not only lose old customers but also cut off the influx of new ones for a while.

 

SEO is now a field that has managed not only to develop its own specific language, understandable only to people in the industry but also to create a number of tools helpful in positioning. Without them, it is actually difficult to imagine any SEO activities on the Internet.
